Fanciful guitar playing, a solid bass, and vocal harmonies galore!
THE ROBIN DAVIS DUO may be small in numbers…but they will floor the audience every time with their large sound. The front runner of the Duo is no surprise: Robin Davis. Davis spent his entire upbringing with bluegrass on the brain. With a father as a banjo player, Davis formed his music ideology with the familiar bluegrass instruments we all know well. What started as a five-year old playing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” on the fiddle soon became a musician garnering influences from Clarence White, Tony Rice, and Buckethead (the man can shred electric just as well as his pre-war acoustic SUPERTONE).
Davis shared most of his music with the SW mountain town of Durango, CO, less than 60 miles from his family ranch in Pagosa Springs. His earlier projects included musicians that are currently members of the following: The Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, and Greensky Bluegrass.
In Durango, he was lucky enough to find a little lady. Jimi Giles, who plays stand-up bass in The Robin Davis Duo, learned guitar from her deadhead father at the age of ten…but it wasn’t until she met Davis did she start pickin’ the stand-up bass. Together The Robin Davis Duo molds fanciful guitar playing, a solid bass, and vocal harmonies galore in traditional and original tunesce, and Buckethead (the man can shred electric just as well as his pre-war acoustic SUPERTONE).
