Music & Brews – People’s Choice

Music & Brews!

Music & Brews Festival, part of Pagosa’s ColorFest Weekend, happened right here in the heart of our beautiful hometown of Pagosa Springs, about a block away from Riff Raff headquarters. Around 15 breweries from the Four Corners area came to pour samples of their brews, and there was also amazing live music and wine tastings. Riff Raff posted up next to our buddies at Wolfe Brewing (another Pagosa favorite) and had an awesome evening pouring beer for our guests. festival-tap-handle

We brought 4 beers for folks to sample: the El Duende Green Chile, Black Cherry Porter, Stepmother Imperial Red, and our Tilted Lass Scotch Ale. We also had a table full of Riff Raff temporary tattoos (though I told everyone I tattooed that it was real, and… ya know… sorry about that), stickers, coozies, and coasters. Quite a few people came up to our quaint little booth asking for the lightest beer, which was our El Duende. One sweet little lady replied that she does not like green chile. Our master pourer, Maddy, managed to convince her to just try a taste. And wouldn’t ya know it, she loved it. She asked for a full taster. We just love watching people change their perceptions as they try our brews. Beer doesn’t lie!

This particular festival has two awards: People’s Choice and Brewer’s Choice. Each beer-tasting guest is handed a People’s Choice tag, and they choose which brewery is their favorite. The brewers from each brewery get to choose their favorite beer overall. Three Rivers Brewing, out of Farmington, New Mexico, received the Brewer’s Choice for their delicious Vanilla Bean Stout. As far as the award for favorite brewery: Yours Truly! We’re so excited to announce that we won People’s Choice! We bounced around and hollered like little kids in a candy store.

We feel so lucky and grateful to have the fans that we do here in our little town (and beyond!). Thank you for loving and drinking our beer as much as we do. We pour our heart and souls into Riff Raff, and just feel all warm and squishy inside when people love it like we do.

A toast to our amazing friends, fans, and newly-addicted Riff Raff! Cheers!
